Well, it’s not all that of a lazy Sunday today, I have a lot of things that I need to get done. Amongst them is finishing some homework, finishing some Christmas presents and see if I can fix some new trousers I’ve gotten so they aren’t 20 cm too long for my short legs. There’s cleaning involved on my schedule as well. And drawing. I hope I can get two more drawings done for the sketchbook project. I’ve got a few up now, not many. Hence I need to make many, many more! I’ve drawn from The Book of Lost Things and Ronia Robber’s daughter and from a really good trilogy named The Deed of Paksenarrion. I’m trying to come up with a more original view for Frankenstein. I want to draw from the tale of King Arthur, of The Historian, and of White Bear King Valemon. There’s a lot more, though not all of them are easy enough angles to draw ‘popping’ out of a book.
But I’m digressing; I wanted to tell you about my little adventure I had this morning. I quite often go for walks these days. Usually I just walk down to the park and walk around there one-two times. It’s not a big park, but I usually spend an hour or so walking down there. Today, however, I decided to try this path really close to my house where I’ve seen people coming and going to ever since I moved into this new place. I haven’t picked up the nerve to go down there before, mostly because it looks like you’re going down into someone’s garden. I had decided that I was going to go try go down there once it became dark, but man am I glad I didn’t! I quickly found a path that led me into the forest! I thought the area here was filled with houses, not that I had a forest in my backyard, not even 2 minutes to walk to get down there. Ah, I’ve missed a lot of forest walking trips. There were several paths and I took one after the other, not really knowing where I’d end up. I knew roughly where I was, but… Ahh! The wind was blowing roughly and the leaves would fall off the trees and swirl in the air. And I was alone, not interrupted by other people walking there. So I got to feel the magic! Then suddenly I found some stairs walking upwards and I thought: Well, why not? and ventured upwards. I always wondered where the Stave-church actually were. I knew it was close to where I live now, but I didn’t really know how to get to it. And…today I found out how. I came up the stairs and I saw the church tower looming over me. Thankfully there was no tourist massing there then. Once again it was just me. And the view was fantastic. I walked around the church, and up on some hill nearby. I sadly didn’t bring my own camera, but I found this one on the web to show you how amazing it is now, with all the autumn colours. Ah, how I wish I could live in a land with eternal autumn colours!
